Sustainable wood
Suar grows in various tropical regions, but is not a native tree species in Southeast Asia. The trees are usually planted along roads and in parks and are not found in natural rainforests. Albizia saman is native to South and Central America and was introduced to countries with a suitable climate, including Indonesia, several centuries ago.
Thanks to this origin we can say with certainty that our tree trunk tables do not damage the rainforest.
The right conditions for your tree trunk table
One of the unique properties of wood is that it continues to “work” under the influence of temperature and humidity. That is why it is important to keep the humidity in your living or working space between 50% and 60% to keep. This also applies to wooden floors and pianos.
Avoid placing your tree trunk table directly at a fireplace or other heat source, as this can dry out the wood and cause warping.
Create a hygrometer is a convenient way to measure humidity and has been available since € 5, - available online. When the humidity drops below 50% (which can happen quickly in winter), it is wise to air humidifier to be used in the room where your table is located.
